Hi there! I’m a first-year PhD student in Psychological Science at Toronto Metropolitan University (TMU) studying under the supervision of Dr. Alyssa Counsell in the Psychology And Statistics Education Research (PASER) Lab.

Research Interests

  • Teaching and Learning in Statistics and Research Methods Courses

    Investigating students’ self-efficacy, anxiety, and attitudes toward statistics; studying how learners across disciplines and degree levels engage with real-world data and statistical software

    Evaluating instructional strategies to improve outcomes in statistics and research methods courses

  • Statistical Literacy in Society

    Examining how statistical literacy shapes understanding of information in politics, health, and media; developing modern, psychometrically sound tools to assess statistical literacy in the general population

  • Psychometrics and Scale Development

    Applying item response theory and other psychometric techniques to develop and validate tools for assessing statistical literacy and learning-related constructs

  • Advanced Statistical Methods in Educational Psychology Research

    Promoting the use of advanced statistical methods to better understand learning, development, and educational interventions
